Crossword puzzle Activity is conducted by Home Science association for 3rd&2nd year students on the event of breastfeeding awareness week. A set of 13 questions are given to the students and conducted within given time of 15 minutes followed by winners are announced after evaluating the answers.

A Rally walk has been done on breast feeding awareness by saying slogans by all three years & PG students of Home Science in the college ground for 15minutes and continued by quotation writing activity by all 3years students and PG students of different groups and faculty till 1:00pm. Winners are announced after evaluation of the quotation.

Recipe Making Activity on Weaning Foods

Recipe Making Activity is conducted on Weaning Foods exclusively incorporated with millets for all three years students of Home Science Department in the Nutrition Lab from 12:30p.m to 1:00p.m, Capt .K. Sujatha ma’am HOD of Mathematics was invited as judge for the activity to finalize the winners of the activity. Students displayed varieties of weaning food, total 32 students participated in the competition.

A Quiz activity is conducted by Home Science Association on occasion of breast feeding awareness week to all the 2nd&3rd year students in room no:R30 at 12:30pm . Quiz activity is conducted for 4 groups, each group is including of different branches students. The activity took place under the supervision of faculty members V.Sony and T.Gayathri by showing the questions through Power Point Presentation , four rounds were conducted scores were marked for each round and by the final round winners were declared as per they scored.

Ramp walk on Handloom

National Handloom Day-2023
Ramp walk is conducted exclusively on Handlooms by Home Science Department to celebrate the National Handloom day for all 1st,2nd,3rd years of Home Science at 12:30pm, on the college main stage. Faculty members also participated actively in the event. All participants got dressed in different styles of draping with handloom sarees and dupattas. The event has successfully ended.

Handloom Saree walk

National Handloom Day-2023
Handloom Saree walk this rally is exclusively with handloom saree by Home Science Department collaborated with The Spirit Of Vizag Society to celebrate National Handloom day at beach road for 2nd and 3rd year students of Home Science from 6:00am to 8:30am.Faculty members of Home Science Department have also participated in the rally. The participants were given saree walk sashes and provided breakfast. The rally was done successfully.

Theme-Understanding the Clouds

World Photography Day Competition
World Photography Day Competition is conducted by the Home Science Association of Home Science Department for the students of the college. Photographs of the clouds with the theme “Understanding the Clouds” were displayed from several students along with captions based on the theme. Other groups from the college have also shown an active participation in the competition. Total number of participants was 29 students; other department actively participated in the competition. The competition was successful and all the photographs were beautifully displayed.

TAPPING THE TALENT
Theme - Retro theme
Tapping The Talent activity is conducted by the Department of Home Science for the students of 3rd year Home Science in the Textile lab from 2-4pm have participated with many events .The program started with the welcome song ,a retro dance, women empowerment skit, devotional dance, group singing, kathak dance and ended with a draping styles walk show. The activity has successfully ended with the feedback session from 3rd years and faculty members.

Theme- ONAM Festival
The Home Science Association has celebrated ONAM by decorating at the entrance of administration block with the ONAM famous decoration Pookolam. All the final year students have participated in the decorations actively . All the students of 3rd year H.Sc have appeared in the Kerala saree. The celebrations started with the lighting the diya with sisters and continued by the faculty participation.

Medical Camp -National Nutrition week

The department of Home Science on collaboration with Rainbow Hospitals , conducted a free medical camp for the students and staff members of St. Joseph’s college for women (A).
The medical camp consisted of various checkups like:
Anthropometric measurements
BMI analysis
HB test
Gynecologist consultation
Dietician consultant
Total 5 members were present in the medical camp from the hospital. The doctors present were:
Total no. of 200-250 registrations were done on the day. 120 for HB test; 40 gynaec consultations; 40 dietitian consultations were registered.
CONCLUSION:
All the staff and the students have actively participated in the medical camp and made it a success.

Debate Competition-National Nutrition week

The department of Home Science conducted a NUTRI-SALE on account of national nutrition week. All the III year HSc students participated in the sale.
The items sold in the nutri-sale were:

Mocktail
Waffles
Cutlet
Paneer Tikka
Aloo paratha
Papdi chat
All the items were prepared by the students in the nutrition lab.
CONCLUSION:
The nutri-sale was successful with good amount of profit and appreciation.

The department of Home Science conducted poster presentation competition on account of National Nutrition week. All the participants designed their digital posters and got them in A3 printouts and displayed them on the notice board.
ACTIVITY-14
TEACHER’S DAY
DATE: 5/09/23
The final year students of the department of Home Science organized the Teacher’s day programme in the textiles lab. The programme begun with the prayer song followed by the speeches about the teachers with games in between.
Gift was present to the teachers at the end and concluded the programme with a vote of thanks
