EXTENSION ACTIVITY REPORT-6

In partnership with the DHAN foundation, the Department of Home Science orchestrated an extension education initiative tailored to meet the specific requirements of the NGO's beneficiaries on 07.03.2024. Under the guidance of second-year Home Science students, the program aimed to enlighten participants on nutrition, with a special emphasis on integrating iron-rich foods into the diets of women in their reproductive years at Kancharlapalem, Visakhapatnam. The session featured a comprehensive lecture delving into the importance, necessity, and benefits of calcium consumption, alongside a hands-on demonstration of wholesome recipes. To ensure active involvement, students utilized a diverse array of interactive aids, including charts, pamphlets, leaflets, puppet shows, and interactive games. Moreover, they introduced inventive recipes like Soyabean paratha  and Ragi powder , accentuating their nutritional significance. The event fostered an immersive environment, equipping attendees with invaluable insights into sustaining a well-rounded and nourishing diet.
