 FIELD TRIP

Visit-8

No. of Students: 18 Date: 26/9/24

Venue: Success and Success School                            Target Group: II HOME SCIENCE

As part of their Life Span Development practical, the 2nd-year Home Science students visited Success and Success School to observe preschool children between the ages of 2 to 6 years. The primary objective of this visit was to analyze physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development in young children through structured observations and interactive activities.

During the visit, students engaged preschoolers in various age-appropriate activities such as storytelling, free play, group games, drawing, and puzzles. These activities helped assess different developmental aspects:

  • Physical Development: Observing fine and gross motor skills through activities like running, jumping, holding crayons, and stacking blocks.

  • Social Development: Interactions with peers and teachers, sharing behaviors, and participation in group activities.

  • Emotional Development: Expression of emotions, responses to new situations, and ability to regulate emotions.

  • Cognitive Development: Problem-solving skills, memory retention, language usage, and attention span through tasks like storytelling, identifying objects, and simple reasoning games.

Students also noted the learning environment of the preschool, the role of teachers and caregivers, and how different activities were structured to foster holistic growth in children. The visit provided valuable practical exposure, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application.

Overall, this observational study allowed students to gain deeper insights into early childhood development, reinforcing their understanding of developmental milestones and individual differences among preschoolers.
