The students of
III BSc Home Science of St. Joseph’s College for Women (A) had a guest lecture
about “Food Safety and Quality Management” by guest lecturer Mr. Sailesh Sangu,
Food Executive officer from Gitam University.
In this session, we
learned about Food safety and its principles; Hazards and its types; Factors
influencing food quality and importance of food quality; Packaging, types of
packaging and its objectives; Food labeling and importance. Sir explained us
about Food safety and its importance briefly. Sir also explained us about
cooking temperatures Sir explained us about Consideration for packing and its
importance. Scope in food technology career guidance, oppurtunities, brief introduction about food
quality and safety.
CONCLUSION
Students had a great interactive
session and gained knowledge about the background processes happening in the
food industries.
