EXTENSION ACTIVITY REPORT-6
In partnership with the DHAN foundation, the Department of Home Science orchestrated an extension education initiative tailored to meet the specific requirements of the NGO's beneficiaries on 07.03.2024. Under the guidance of second-year Home Science students, the program aimed to enlighten participants on nutrition, with a special emphasis on integrating iron-rich foods into the diets of women in their reproductive years at Kancharlapalem, Visakhapatnam. The session featured a comprehensive lecture delving into the importance, necessity, and benefits of calcium consumption, alongside a hands-on demonstration of wholesome recipes. To ensure active involvement, students utilized a diverse array of interactive aids, including charts, pamphlets, leaflets, puppet shows, and interactive games. Moreover, they introduced inventive recipes like Soyabean paratha and Ragi powder , accentuating their nutritional significance. The event fostered an immersive environment, equipping attendees with invaluable insights into sustaining a well-rounded and nourishing diet.

In collaboration with, the Department of Home Science, the Dhan foundation crafted an extension education program tailored specifically for the needs of the NGO's beneficiaries on 22.02.2024. Led by second-year Home Science students, the initiative aimed to educate participants about nutrition, emphasizing the importance of including iron-rich foods in the diets of women of reproductive age at Kancharalapalem, Visakhapatnam. The session comprised an in-depth lecture exploring the significance, necessity, and benefits of iron consumption, complemented by a live demonstration of nutritious recipes. To ensure active participation, students employed a variety of interactive tools, including charts, pamphlets, leaflets, puppet shows, and games. Additionally, they introduced innovative recipes like Mint podi and Beetroot tikki with their nutritional value. The session cultivated a highly engaging atmosphere, providing attendees with valuable insights into maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.

Spearheaded by second-year Home Science students, the program aimed to educate participants on nutrition, with a particular focus on the significance of incorporating iron-rich foods into the diets of females of reproductive age at Appu ghar, MVP colony . The session included a detailed lecture covering the importance, necessity, and benefits of calcium consumption, accompanied by a live demonstration of nutritious recipes. To ensure active engagement, students utilized a diverse range of interactive tools, including charts, pamphlets, leaflets, puppet shows, and games. Moreover, they introduced innovative recipes such as Malted beverage powder and Methi paratha, highlighting their nutritional value. The session fostered a highly interactive environment, leaving attendees with valuable insights into maintaining a well-balanced diet.

Led by second-year Home Science students, the program centered on imparting nutrition education, specifically emphasizing the importance of iron-rich foods for females in their reproductive years at CBM compound , Asilmetta. The session featured a comprehensive lecture covering the significance, necessity, and benefits of iron in one's diet, complemented by a live demonstration of nutritious recipes. Employing a variety of engaging tools such as charts, pamphlets, leaflets, puppet shows, and interactive games, students ensured active participation from the audience. Additionally, they introduced innovative recipes like Gobi patta Masala Mix and Mint Adai with Spinach chutney. showcasing their nutritional advantages. The session was highly interactive, leaving the attendees with valuable insights into the importance of a balanced diet.

EXTENSION EDUCATION REPORT
The Department of Home Science partnered with the DHAN foundation to host an extension education initiative for recipients of the NGO's support on 11.01.2024. Second-year Home Science students took the lead in delivering nutrition education, focusing on the significance of calcium-rich foods, particularly for females of reproductive age at Akkayanpalem, Vishakhapatnam. The session comprised a comprehensive lecture on the importance, necessity, and advantages of iron in the diet, followed by a live demonstration of nutritious recipes. To enhance engagement, students utilized various audio-visual aids such as charts, pamphlets, leaflets, puppet shows, and interactive games. Alongside, they showcased innovative recipes like Beetroot milk powder and rajma cutlet , highlighting their nutritional value. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the interactive session and gained valuable insights into maintaining a balanced diet.

EXTENSION ACTIVITY REPORT
Department of Home Science in Collaboration with DHAN foundation conducted extension education activity for the beneficiaries of the NGO on 04.01.2024 . Students of II year Home Science imparted Nutrition Education on importance of iron rich food, targeted towards females in reproductive age group at Malkapuram, Visakhapatnam. This activity included illustrative lecture on Importance, requirement and benefits of iron followed by recipe demonstration. For the lecture students prepared audio visual aids like charts, pamphlets, leaflets, puppet show, and interactive games. Innovative and novel recipes were designed and demonstrated for the target group. Students prepared Amaranths karampodi and spinach dhokla and explained its nutritional benefits. Audience enjoyed the interaction a lot and benefited from the event.

Report on NUTRITION WORKSHOP
We the students of 3rd B.SC home science had a workshop on nutrition by P. Manasa Ma’am
It was a 2 days of workshop which was conducted on 11th,12th of December 2023 , students learned how to calculate a menu plan that was given by the resource person. students were divided into three groups and each group was given case’s as case1,case2 ,case3,energy requirements and other nutrient requirements calculations are done by the students, initial nutrition assessment ABCD assessment sheet form was filled by the student based on case study ,food exchanges ,starch exchanges, protein exchanges and carbohydrate exchanges were explained briefly to the students practically .
Doubts of students were clarified by the resource person; this workshop helped the students to know how to fill a nutrition assessment form based on the menu plan calculations and disease condition
All the calculations and nutrition assessment were done by the students under the guidance of the resource person

Report on sustainable textiles workshop
We the students of 3rd B.SC Home science had a workshop on sustainable textiles by bhagya sri Ma’am
It was a 4 days of workshop which was conducted on 4th, 7th,8th, 9th of December 2023. Students learnt the process of drafting, cutting, constructing techniques for designing pillow covers, cushion making, wall hanging , carry bag , hand bag.
The resource person explained all the procedures elaborately to the students. the students were given a proper direction to design and construct pillow covers, cushion making , wall hanging, carry bag , hand bag through recycling [ using old cotton clothes , jeans, tee-shirts etc ] all the doubts of students were clarified by ma’am
All the procedures were done by the students under the proper guidance of the resource person.
This workshop helped the students to learn how to utilize waste/trash fabric to make something useful and beautiful.
The out put of the workshop gave immense satisfaction and pleasure .

We the students of 3rd bsc home science had a workshop on traditional food items by Mr.Raju sir
On third day i.e, 1/12/23 students learned about now to prepare traditional food sweets i.e, bobbattlu and bondi laddu sir explain all the procedure briefly to the students and the students are give proper direction to prepare the traditional sweets during the preparation all the doubts of the students were clarify by the sir the workshop help to students to know how they prepare the bobbattlu and bondi laddu in a huge quantity all the procedure were done by the students under the proper guidance of the sir.
On fourth day i.e, 2/12/23 students learned about now to prepare traditional food i.e, chegodilu and chakralu sir explain all the procedure briefly to the students and the students are given proper direction to prepare the traditional food during the preparation all the doubts of the students were clarify by the sir the workshop help to students to know how the prepare the chegodilu and chakralu in a huge quantity all the procedure were done by the students under the proper guidance of the sir.

REPORT ON FOOD PRESERVATION WORKSHOP
We the students of home science had a workshop on food preservation by Mr .Ram Dorayya sir
On first day i.e,29/11/2023,students learned about how to prepare orange squash and mixed fruit jam.
Sir explained all the procedures briefly to the students. The students were given a proper direction to prepare the squash and mixed fruit jam .During the preparation all the doubts of the students were clarified by the Sir . This workshop helped the students to know how to prepare the squash and jam in huge quantity . All the procedures were done by the students under the proper guidance of the sir.
On second day i.e,30/11/2023,students learned about how to prepare pineapple pickle and tomato onion chutneys. .During the preparation proper instructions were given to students and doubts were clarified by the Sir . This workshop made students more aware of preserving methods and necessary care to be taken when preparing in huge quantity . All the procedures were done by the students under the proper guidance of the sir.

REPORT
We the students of 3rdBsc Home science had a guest lecture by Mrs.Sunayana mam, the vice principle of Srishti world school and Mrs. Shiva gita mam , senior English teacher of Srishti world school. In this session we learnt about many topics like how to be a good pre-school teacher, leadership qualities, classroom management, scheduling the tasks for a day. They also explained us about functions of administration, school management system, challenges of pre-school teacher, way of handling children. Not only sharing the information but they also made us experience the activities like they made us play fun activity to male us understand more efficiently. We learned that financial management, good leadership qualities, entrepreneurship are much important for a school management system. This session helped us to get more knowledge about the school management, its facilities, work of an administrator, challenges faced by a pre-school teacher, planning activities for a day to the pre-school children.

A four day workshop on Pidilite was conducted to the III Bsc Home Science students from 21 Nov – 24 Nov, 2023. The resource person was Mrs. I. Aruna Kumari. She is an expert teacher in art and craft. She is working in Pidilite industry from 20 years .Along with the Pidilite arts she prepares marriage articles and also she do saree paintings. She is extremely hardworking and humble. Pidilite has been a centre for art as it shows the persons talent in art and crafts. She conducts workshop often .On the first day of workshop Mrs. Aruna Kumari instructed regarding the materials and the process of making the articles. She also demonstrated the process of Pichwai Painting and Canvas Painting. On the last day of the workshop Mrs. I. Aruna kumari taught the students glass painting, Madhubani painting and Lippon painting . For the glass painting students have used glass colours for the colouring of the designs . Glass painting art refers to individual works of art that are substantially or wholly made of glass. For Lippon painting, different shapes of mirrors and kundans are used for the decoration. Students participated enthusiastically. They learned different patterns of making different art works using various articles. The workshop was very interesting and creative. Students can decorate their houses very beautifully by learning this art. They can also open up their own enterprises and earn their living.

Department of Home Science has conducted a FIVE - DAY HANDS-ON TRAINING SESSIONS IN Auto CAD/ Sketch up. Mr. Dileep Kumar, Design Engineer, AOG Solutions is invited as resource person. The session has imparted skill in rendering and layering techniques in designing interiors using Auto CAD/Sketch up. Students felt, the session was very useful and enthusiastic and took active interaction during the overall session.
